About this listen

A cosmopolitan title to get excited about in 2018!

Stella Lane thinks math is the only thing that unites the universe. She comes up with algorithms to predict customer purchases - a job that has given her more money than she knows what to do with as well as way less experience in the dating department than the average 30-year-old. It doesn't help that she has Asperger's and that French kissing reminds her of a shark getting its teeth cleaned by pilot fish. She decides that she needs lots of practice - with a professional - which is why she hires escort Michael Phan.

The Vietnamese-Swedish stunner can't afford to turn down Stella's offer, and he agrees to help her check off all the boxes on her lesson plan - from foreplay to more-than-missionary position... Before long, Stella not only learns to appreciate his kisses but also to crave all of the other things he's making her feel. Their no-nonsense partnership starts making a strange kind of sense. And the pattern that emerges convinces Stella that love is the best kind of logic...

love love love

I'm usually pretty picky with single narration romance novels, but this narrator did an amazing job of conveying both the male and female characters with distinct voices, and character traits. I listen to this entire book in 2 days. It was intoxicatingly sweet, exceptionally sexy, and so much fun. I squealed a few times and gasped out loud more than once.

Fantastic first Romance book!

I listened to this based on the 10/10 review Elyse Myers gave it, she praised it so much that I gave it a shot, and I'm glad I did! This book has fantastic nero-divergent representation, and is perfect in pacing and spice level.

Loved it!

The narration was chosen well to convey the rigidity of the one character. Lots of character development and spice level was perfect. Definitely recommend.

A win for neurodivergent women!

Loved having an ND protagonist who was well portrayed and multi-faceted. I wept during the first half of the book listening to this woman have her companion respect her boundaries, show patience and compassion, never patronize, and overall just be a stellar man. And more, he doesn’t ask her to change/mask/integrate. She it completely accepted as-is. Desirable, sexy, wanted…stims and all.

It’s also really well narrated. Kudos to the actors who never enter caricatures. A refreshing addition to the genre.

It's alright

Overall, the book is good

The first half does a good job dealing with the female lead's autism, and it's interesting to see the dynamics of that in the relationship

However, the second half seems to forget about the autism element, and follows stereotypical romance novel tropes instead. I felt the reliance on simple miscommunication was a bit too much and overdone.

The performer does a decent job.

A pleasant surprise

I loved it, it was an interesting book. Not what I usually listen to, it is actually quite a seductive book. The narrator really made the book come to life, lol.
