In order to achieve lasting results, this Audible audiobook presents the idea of intermittent fasting. The logic behind this method is based on the fact that contrary to popular belief, fluctuations in weight are not due to lack of self-control, but rather due to hormones - more specifically, insulin. Dr. Fung, a Canadian nephrologist and author of The Obesity Code, explains that obesity and obesity-related diseases (such as type 2 diabetes) are related to the overproduction of insulin and supports his idea with scientific evidence. Most useful book on obesity causes
Doctor Jason Fung’s book is simply revolutionary in many ways. He is part of a determined, intelligent, and standing with integrity group of medical professionals who are not afraid to publish true facts about so called “nutrition science” that is largely responsible for today’s epidemic of diabetis,obesity and plethora of related metabolic illnesses. My deep respect to this doctor for all amazing work he is doing that benefits anyone who seeks to grow and maintain their health and to age well.

Great Information
Dr Fung provides great information on why diets don't work longer term. He also explains the relationship between weight gain and insulin and how fasting addresses the shortcomings of other diets. The narration really the material down. Excessive inflection and pronunciation errors often distracting from interesting information.

You think you know, but you do not!
I was sockless while listening to this book because the information continued to blow my socks off!
As a health care practitioner for over 13 yrs and dieter for longer than that, I thought I was knowledgeable. I thought I knew what I was doing, but alas I had not been given the correct info, it seems very few ppl had.
My eyes have been opened,
with intermittent fasting I have lost 20 pounds after my weight watchers stopped working.
My energy is now more consistent throughout the day, I’m happier, and I hold a much more clear understanding of what my body needs.
Highly recommend!

life changing
following the advice iv heard here and I'm dropped 53 pounds in 4 months. all consult with a doctor first but iv been over weight my whole life, no obese by Dr. fungs definition not nowhere near as slim as I want to be. I have never looked this good. and in 2 months I hope to reach my high school weight. by the way I'm 29 now.
