This was the story that convinced me to open a patron account! It’s a huge, beautiful, unique world. The characters and side characters feel real and fleshed out. There are classes and hidden abilities. The writing is clear and polished. The voice actor chosen is excellent! Don’t sleep on this title

This book and the narration was incredible. I listened on about a thousand persuasive requests of my brother and found it a bit slow at first due to all the world building (which I later found out was totally necessary). I’m so glad I listened on because it is genius. Again, both the writing and narration- incredible!

Too slow pace story for my liking.

Unlikeable main characters. One was okay and got more unlikable as the story went on.

Side characters were more interesting.

Remove all the clicks and the extra ss’s in speaking and it would of been more enjoyable.

I bounced off this series HARD. I saw so many good reviews and was excited to spend my credit on it, but the MC constantly making decisions drove me mad. She is lucky to have landed in a world where infected wounds seem to not be a concern whatsoever. I wish I was able to click with this series to join the rest of the believers, but I think I may never be able to push through. If you are looking for likeable characters, a good initial hook, or just something with substance that takes fewer than 10 hours to get to it then I may suggest looking elsewhere.

The narrator does a fine job of portraying Erin and the monster voices from what I was able to slog though, so if you're only in it for something to pass the time then this may be a good option. The credit to listening time ratio is good for this series.
