About this listen
An enemy with otherworldly powers. A war fueled by insatiable bloodlust. No one will be spared.
Following their first victory against a rogue unit of Repub Marines, Magnus finds his newly trained gladias pinned down by a squadron of Talons. But when he discovers that their prisoners may hold critical answers to bringing down the enemy, Magnus must stop at nothing to get his team to safety and interrogate the enemy combatants.
Once aboard their new Novian starship, however, Magnus isn’t prepared for the intel he uncovers. The enemy’s power is growing stronger by the day, and their claws have found their way into his own team members. Forced across the void horizon into his home universe, Magnus must search to find Awen’s mentor and famed Elder of the Luma, Willowood. But finding the old woman before the enemy unleashes the next stage of its plans could mean the end of Magnus’ fledgling resistance.
Includes a bonus story from the Ruins of the Galaxy series and a special note from the author.

Story
We were fighting on the wrong side of a war we couldn't win. And that was the good news. The Ruhar hit us on Columbus Day. There we were, innocently drifting along the cosmos on our little blue marble, like the native Americans in 1492. Over the horizon come ships of a technologically advanced, aggressive culture, and BAM! There go the good old days, when humans only got killed by each other. So, Columbus Day. It fits. When the morning sky twinkled again, this time with Kristang starships jumping in to hammer the Ruhar, we thought we were saved.

Story
My name is Kazimir Wolfe. People call me "Kaz", except they don’t. I never use my real name; it’s too dangerous, for me and for anyone I meet. I’m on the run from the law, who think I killed my aunt, and from whoever did kill her, because they want to finish the job. So, I move around a lot, working construction or whatever job I can find. It’s a lonely life. I don’t let anyone get close...people who get close to me end up dead. Why? I’m a wizard. The world’s only wizard, as far as I know.

Story
From the Audie-nominated narrator of The Martian. In eleven years' time, a million members of an alien race will arrive at Earth. Years before they enter orbit, their approach will be announced by the flare of a thousand flames in the sky, their ships' huge engines burning hard to slow them from the vast speeds needed to cross interstellar space. These foreboding lights will shine in our night sky like new stars, getting ever brighter until they outshine even the sun, casting ominous shadows and banishing the night until they suddenly blink out.

This series is everything I'm looking for!
To put it simply this book is engaging, entertaining, and deep. It takes many of my favorite narrative themes and does something new and fresh with it! Keep up the good work Hopper and Chaney!

Another great installment
A few voice swap issues with characters but another great story. And another great performance by RC Bray.
One time magnus had aywen’s voice while they were in the crypt. It was kinda funny.

storyline is cheesy.
storyline is super cheesy. first book was ok because it was realistic and gritty. OTF is clumsy rip off from KTF from Galaxies Edge universe. Military Sci Fi lovers, Galaxy's Edge by Jason Anspach and Nick Cole is far better.
