À propos de cet audio
**The New York Times Bestseller**
**Parade magazine must-read books by celebrities 2023**
"I went through so many emotions reading this book. Reconnecting to one's ancestors and truly feeling, not only hearing, their stories are fertile ground for true ecstatic embodiment of the self. We have to know where we've been to see where we're going." -Willow Smith
"[Smith] is candid and honest... For the first time she reveals the truth behind [the] happy images. An incredible read." -Hoda Kotb, The Today Show
A gripping, at times painfully honest, and ultimately inspirational memoir from global superstar and creator of the Red Table Talk series Jada Pinkett Smith.
Jada Pinkett Smith was living what many would view as a fairy-tale of Hollywood success. But appearances can be deceiving, and as she felt more and more separated from her sense of self, emotional turmoil took hold. Sparing no detail, Worthy chronicles her life—from a rebellious youth running the Baltimore streets as an observer and participant in the drug trade, to the deep bond she shared with Tupac Shakur from the moment they met, to her move to Los Angeles and the successful career she built on her own terms, to becoming the wife of superstar Will Smith and mother to Jaden, Willow and bonus-mom to Trey. A rollercoaster from the depths of suicidal depression to the heights of self-acceptance and spiritual healing, Worthy is a woman’s journey to finding herself again.
In a media driven landscape that crafts narratives for our celebrities, Smith shares herself in an intimate conversation with listeners. She answers questions about her difficult childhood, her marriage, her parenting style, her career choices, and the intense scrutiny that followed “the slap.” An impactful and rare memoir that engages and educates, Worthy shows why adhering to the status quo has never been the plan for Jada Pinkett Smith and why labels and stories crafted by others strip women of their authenticity. Worthy teaches us who Jada is, and how to embrace our most lovable qualities. Complete with thought-provoking writing prompts and meditations on how to discover who we really are and nourish our self-worth.

Like thousands of Aboriginal children in the United States, Canada, and elsewhere in the colonized world, Xatsu'll chief Bev Sellars spent part of her childhood as a student in a church-run residential school. These institutions endeavored to "civilize" Native children through Christian teachings; forced separation from family, language, and culture; and strict discipline. In this frank and poignant memoir of her years at St. Joseph's Mission, Sellars breaks her silence about the residential school's lasting effects on her and her family and eloquently articulates her own path to healing.

Worth the read.
Jada is honest and gracious. She doesn’t pull punches, but she also doesn’t punch down. She shares her optimism, her growth and her fight for survival. At the end of every chapter she provides a moment of reflection to metabolize and reflect on your individual journey.
If you learn through narrative, appreciate honest self reflection and are ready to accept and acknowledge the realities of racism and sexism in American culture, this book is for you.

Raw, honest, true & enlightening
I listened to this audiobook over 3-4 sittings. I liked the reflections at the beginning of each chapter. Until I listened to this book, I admit I didn't know Jada at all nor had I watched a single episode of The Red Table. To listen to her tell her story was entertaining, enlightening and interesting. She is a multi-faceted, married woman & mother with strong, deeply-rooted beliefs about vows, values & letting ppl learn their lessons. I appreciate that. We can all learn something, if not a lot, about the way in which she lives her life, covets her husband & children & her devotion to them. She does this while trying to always remind herself of her worthiness and her divine space.
I recommend this book to anyone wanting to learn about this spiritual, intelligent, brave woman who tries, still today, to stay true and authentic in the plastic world of Hollywood.
I thank Jada for teaching me to reflect on my inner child, my wounded adult and help heal both. May the Creator bless you. Mahsi.

worthy of it all
beautiful story of growth, healing, self awareness, self acceptance, and love masterfully narrated by the author. Jada takes listeners through her personal journey in that raw, uncut way she introduced to us in RTT. I knew very little about her past so I enjoyed the ride down memory lane.

A remarkable demonstration of vulnerability in healing
Jada delivers a remarkable retelling of her journey to let love in and offers tremendous opportunity to explore our own journey back to self throughout the story. I’ve never enjoyed an audio book more! What a pleasure and true delight to listen to her voice through the entire memoir! Thank you for your vulnerability, openness and light… and for performing your own story so damn well, Jada!
