AN INSTANT NEW YORK TIMES BESTSELLER

“Everything I want in a thriller. Sexy, shocking, and tense with an ending I never saw coming. Jeneva Rose is the queen of twists.”—Colleen Hoover, #1 New York Times bestselling author

The highly anticipated new thriller from the New York Times bestselling author of The Perfect Marriage and One of Us Is Dead

You’ve opened up your house and your heart to a total stranger … What could possibly go wrong?

Grace Evans, an overworked New Yorker looking for a total escape from her busy life, books an Airbnb on a ranch in the middle of Wyoming. When she arrives at the idyllic getaway, she’s pleased to find that the owner is a handsome man by the name of Calvin Wells—and he’s eager to introduce her to his easygoing way of life. But there are things Grace discovers that she’s not too pleased about: A lack of cell phone service. A missing woman. And a feeling that something isn’t right with the ranch.

Despite her uneasiness, the two bond and start to fall for one another. However, as her departure date nears, things change for the worse. What began as a playful romance soon turns into a complicated web of lies. Grace grows wary of Calvin as his infatuation for her seems to have morphed to obsession. Calvin fears that Grace is hiding something from him—including her reason for staying at his ranch to begin with. Vacation flings typically end in heartbreak, but for Grace and Calvin, it’ll be far more destructive.

Very surprising and unexpected

This book was very good. I love the twists and turns in it. Very well written and very well narrated. Loved the ending but I feel that a lot has not been explained. Like another reviewer I would have liked to know the selection process.
Overall a great listen and I recommend you read it just for the ending.
Thank you Audible Plus for including it.

Complete surprise

Never saw the twist coming! If you like a mystery, a little romance and a little “heat”, you will love this story.

Well written but predictable and slow pace

I thought the narration was quite good. And I thought the novel was well written. The description of the characters and descriptions of the setting was quite good. And the author is effective in setting a foreboding mood. However nothing really happens until the last part of the book. And it all feels quite predictable. Characters are introduced for no reason other than to add more names to remember.

Did not predict that ending

Usually you know what is going to happen in a thriller. You can spot the twist and something is a little different but you basically know how it will end. Although, I did predict some aspects, I was not expecting it to end like that. Overall, I enjoyed listening to this book. It didn’t wow me but it was entertaining.

Really good

I was not expecting the ending, and I’m the type who can normally figure it out early in the book.

I only wish that the selection process was explained in the ending. IYKYK

Wild ending

This book is overall pretty good, kept me listening and wondering what was going to happen but some of it was too much like some of the other reviews said - “like a teen romance” and kinda iffy. The ending was interesting and a good twist but I felt like there could have been more substance rather than all the fluff. It definitely could be a start to an interesting series of this author wrote more about this main character

Wow

The ending surprised me which was a lovely change for me.
The casting of Andrew Eiden and Andi Arndt was pure genius. The tones of their voices paired wonderfully and made for a really lovely listen. I'm going to go search for them paired up on anything else... right now.
