When nineteen-year-old huntress Feyre kills a wolf in the woods, a terrifying creature arrives to demand retribution. Dragged to a treacherous magical land she knows about only from legends, Feyre discovers that her captor is not truly a beast, but one of the lethal, immortal faeries who once ruled her world.
At least, he's not a beast all the time.
As she adapts to her new home, her feelings for the faerie, Tamlin, transform from icy hostility into a fiery passion that burns through every lie she's been told about the beautiful, dangerous world of the Fae. But something is not right in the faerie lands. An ancient, wicked shadow is growing, and Feyre must find a way to stop it, or doom Tamlin-and his world-forever.
From bestselling author Sarah J. Maas comes a seductive, breathtaking series that blends romance, adventure, and faerie lore into an unforgettable listen.

Story
Twenty-year-old Violet Sorrengail was supposed to enter the Scribe Quadrant, living a quiet life among books and history. Now, the commanding general—also known as her tough-as-talons mother—has ordered Violet to join the hundreds of candidates striving to become the elite of Navarre: dragon riders. But when you’re smaller than everyone else and your body is brittle, death is only a heartbeat away...because dragons don’t bond to “fragile” humans. They incinerate them. With fewer dragons willing to bond than cadets, most would kill Violet to better their own chances of success.

Chosen from birth to usher in a new era, Poppy’s life has never been her own. The life of the Maiden is solitary. Never to be touched. Never to be looked upon. Never to be spoken to. Never to experience pleasure. Waiting for the day of her Ascension, she would rather be with the guards, fighting back the evil that took her family, than preparing to be found worthy by the gods. But the choice has never been hers.

If the demons discover the truth about Trinity, they’ll devour her to enhance their powers. When Wardens from another clan arrive with reports that something is killing both demons and Wardens, Trinity’s world implodes. Not the least because one of the outsiders is the most annoying and fascinating person she’s ever met.

Graphic Audiobooks are Incredible!!!!!
If you've read ACOTAR and want to experience the closest feeling to reading it for the first time again, listen to these audiobooks!!! The performances are amazing!!! Are there some weird sound effects occasionally? Yes. Do I care? Absolutely not. The music, the sound effects, the voices, everything works so well together, and you almost feel like you're walking through a story-driven video game with your eyes closed. This was the coolest audiobook I've ever listened to, and I'm so so so excited to continue the series!!!!

What an incredible ride.
The performance is awesome - new to graphic novels, I actually didn’t even realize it’s what I got until I started listening. Different voices is SO great for building the world and its people in your imagination. Highly recommend this type of audiobook to anyone with a vivid imagination.
I loved everything about this story. The right amount of everything which had me snared right from chapter one. Enough challenges, antagonists, love, anxiety, characters (all important), reconciliations, friendships, fighting, etc.
Many times I thought I knew the outcome or that I could predict the chain of events: I was wrong. And it was such a delight to be shocked! Such an amazingly woven story with intertwined threads of which make this that much more enjoyable. Many times I was screaming NOOOO THIS CANNOT HAPPEN and it did happen. And it was an entertaining listen to me, so much so, that I’ve binge listened to the series all week.
This story was told and written very well. I’m still so very impressed by the way the writer made me feel certain things specific ways, just to twist and turn all the things upside down.
Loved this book, enjoyed the performers, and really was taken to another place with this writer’s ability to story tell.

I LOVED THIS!!
I’ve been told this is the worst book in the series, but if that’s true then I’m in for a treat! I LOVED this! I loved the twists, the world building, characters & writing style. It was gripping from start to finish. So glad I finally jumped into the SJM universe! I know I’m gonna love it especially after this first tale. Highly recommend if you like fantasy, the fae realm, nature & romance.

the background noises are unnecessary
i did like this version of A Court of Thorns and Roses more than the not dramatized version (the regular version has no emotion and is pretty monotones the entire time) however i really disliked that there was background noises during fight scenes or suspensful scenes. the crowd in the background was so loud and distracting i had to keep rewinding to try and understand what whoever was talking was saying. i understand it was trying to set a vibe but it didnt need to continue through the whole scene. i just wish the crowd sound was played for the begining of the scene then stopped so i can hear properly.
overall the story was ok. i like the world building but there was alot of clichés and predictable events. this is not a hot and steamy book, its very mild compared to other stories.

Great performance
The voice actors do a great job bringing life to these characters! Well done! Great casting choices!!! The story is ok. I will get the next one and hope the story will be better with more depth. This first book certainly felt more like setting up the story and introducing characters.
