About this listen
A deeply personal and revealing Hollywood-survival story.
Lovable child star by age ten, international teen idol by fifteen, and to this day a perennial pop-culture staple, Corey Feldman has not only spent the entirety of his life in the spotlight, he's become just as famous for his off-screen exploits as for his roles in such classic films as Gremlins, The Goonies, and Stand by Me. He's been linked to a slew of Hollywood starlets (including Drew Barrymore, Vanessa Marcil, and adult entertainer Ginger Lynn), shared a highly publicized friendship with Michael Jackson, and with his frequent costar Corey Haim enjoyed immeasurable success as one half of the wildly popular duo "The Two Coreys,"spawning seven films, a 1-900 number, and "Coreymania" in the process. What child of the eighties didn't have a Corey Feldman poster hanging in her bedroom, or a pile of Tiger Beats stashed in his closet?
Now, in this brave and moving memoir, Corey is revealing the truth about what his life was like behind the scenes: His is a past that included physical, drug, and sexual abuse, a dysfunctional family from which he was emancipated at age fifteen, three high-profile arrests for drug possession, a nine-month stint in rehab, and a long, slow crawl back to the top of the box office.
While Corey has managed to overcome the traps that ensnared so many other entertainers of his generation—he's still acting, isa touring musician, and is a proud father to his son, Zen—many of those closest to him haven't been so lucky. In the span of one year, he mourned the passing of seven friends and family members, including Corey Haim and Michael Jackson. In the wake of those tragedies, he's spoken publicly about the dark side of fame, lobbied for legislation affording greater protections for children in the entertainment industry, and lifted the lid off of what he calls Hollywood's biggest secret.
Coreyography is his surprising account ofsurvival and redemption.

When this best-selling autobiography was originally released, everyone was shocked: The Long Hard Road Out of Hell was the darkest, funniest, most controversial and best-selling rock book of its time - and it became the template, both visually and narratively, for almost every rock book since. Marilyn Manson is not just a music icon, it turned out, but one of the best storytellers of his generation.

A fantastic listen!
A great memoir to begin with, but being read by Corey himself lends way more to this book than anything you could have gotten from reading it. An absolutely excellent audiobook!

Heartbreaking
So heartbreaking to hear how exploitative Hollywood can be, and the tragedies Feldman and so many others experienced. When I was much younger, I also believed that the young actors and actresses that I watched on the big screen and read about in magazines had it all. The fortune, the fame, all of the things I only dreamt of.
I found his voices amusing, which brought some light to the darkness.
It amazes me how he was able to survive when so many of his peers, his friends lost their fight trying to cope/runaway from their demons and the poisonous side of the business.

Heartfelt
I grew up watching the movies and remember the news and tabloids and eventually watching The Two Coreys. This seems to be a true look within his life and the lives of those in his circle. It has good, bad and ugly but I must say though I often felt compassion, pity or any number of feelings in this story, tears began to flow at the end with the final exchange between the two men. I am glad that Feldman continues to go on in his life and is committed to giving his son all the love he himself was denied. I only wish Haim had gotten so blessed before the world lost his talent and the potential he had.

This audio book was very interesting,
well written, and well performed. I grabbed it in an audible 2 for 1 sale, and I’m so glad I did!! Corey Feldman is refreshingly honest, and extremely brave. I imagine writing this book was not easy for him.
If you grew up in the 80’s watching the Corey’s this book is for you.

A moving story of coming of age in Hollywood
As sad as the downfall of a bright, talented and promising actor might be, Feldman's biography, while crude and honest, is also instilled with hope and humility. It brought me back to my teen days in the 80's and 90's, giving a behind the scene perspective on my beloved movies and the actors who made them. More than a biography, this book forces a reflexion on stardom at a young age and the perils of Hollywood.
