Ex-military policeman Jack Reacher is a drifter. He’s just passing through Margrave, Georgia, and in less than an hour, he’s arrested for murder. Not much of a welcome. Story
On his last combat deployment, Lt. Cmdr. James Reece's entire team was killed in an ambush that also claimed the lives of the aircrew sent in to rescue them. But when those dearest to him are murdered on the day of his homecoming, Reece discovers that this was not an act of war by a foreign enemy but a conspiracy that runs to the highest levels of government. Now, with no family and free from the military's command structure, Reece applies the lessons that he's learned in over a decade of constant warfare toward revenge.

Story
Two lonely towns in Colorado: Hope and Despair. Between them, 12 miles of empty road. Jack Reacher never turns back. It's not in his nature. All he wants is a cup of coffee. What he gets is big trouble. So in Lee Child’s electrifying new novel, Reacher - a man with no fear, no illusions, and nothing to lose - goes to war against a town that not only wants him gone, it wants him dead. It wasn’t the welcome Reacher expected. He was just passing through, minding his own business. But within minutes of his arrival a deputy is in the hospital and Reacher is back in Hope.

Story
Every day without fail, Travis Devine puts on a cheap suit, grabs his faux-leather briefcase, and boards the 6:20 commuter train to Manhattan, where he works as an entry-level analyst at the city’s most prestigious investment firm. In the mornings, he gazes out the train window at the lavish homes of the uberwealthy, dreaming about joining their ranks. In the evenings, he listens to the fiscal news on his phone, already preparing for the next grueling day in the cutthroat realm of finance. Then one morning Devine’s tedious routine is shattered by an anonymous email: She is dead.

An Anthony Award winner
“All [Jack Reacher novels] are ripping yarns, but...Killing Floor wins awards for Best Corrupt Southern Town in a Summer Novel and Best Exploding Warehouse.” (Stephen King, Entertainment Weekly)
“Combines high suspense with almost nonstop action. Reacher is a wonderfully epic hero: tough, taciturn, yet vulnerable.” (People)
“Great style and careful plotting. The violence is brutal...depicted with the kind of detail that builds dread and suspense.” (The New York Times)

Action packed unpredictable
After listening to this book I watched the TV series. Spot on. This novel delivers the action and keeps you listening. The voice of narrator didn't quite match but not a show stopper.

I think I have found a new series to get into. I started off by loving the movies, then read the 3 novellas and then watched the prime series. tge prime series is pretty accurate to the book. read the 3 novellas first then this it will make alot more sense.

Jack Reacher’s voice
I’m sorry I couldn’t give a higher rating for the narrator. I have read Lee Child books for years and Jack Reacher, in my mind, had a much different voice. It was very distracting to me.

Fun book
Not so much a mystery but rather an action and revenge story. Mystery aspect is ok. Jack Reacher as an action star is super fun.

Great narration. Compelling story!
Sped it up to 1.2-better speed. Reader pace was too slow at the default speed. Overall, a good intro to Jack Reacher. I found the Audible was actually better than reading the book, which is not usually the case for me.

Good story, didn't like the narration.
I liked the story. I didn't like the narrator's voice. and Cadence. too many pauses, made all Southern people sound stupid with how they couldn't get through a sentence without a few longer than needed pauses.

the story is great, but the narrator is so bad he sound like old computer voice program reading the story no emotion in the words. he had the same tune of voice from being to the end.
