Felt the story lagged a bit more then the first
I'll start off by saying there were developments in this book that I was very pleased with. But some of the jumps in time progressing felt jarring, as well as greater amount of lulls in the story for me compared to the first. Overall still enjoying the series plenty, and Travis Baldree is narrator GOAT. Not my favourite series, but more then happy to continue it.

The sound effects are annoying
Great story with good narration.
But.
The voiced "boom" "bang" "crack" "schwing" etc are pretty awful. They don't add anything and remove immersion from the otherwise excellent narration

Well now, you’ve got me alright… you’ve got me.
This book was a big step up from book one, which I did enjoy, but this book was actually quite a bit better and I’m very invested in continuing the series. Also, let us not forget to mention the god of the spoken word, our great and ever beloved master Lord Travis Baldree. May his name be ever praised and his glory live forever in the hearts and ears of all mankind.

Fun and exciting!
The author does a great job of building up the storyline making the climaxes towards the end of the book all the more exciting! At one point in the book when one of the long awaited "things" finally comes out, I found myself completely locked in saying "heck ya!" in excitement.
