A complex scientific subject well explained.
This was a very interesting book that explained the subject of longevity in a straightforward manner and was not bogged down in overly complex jargon. Combine this reading with the many online lectures and guest appearances by Dr Luongo and you'll have a comprehensive grasp of the subject.

lots of science, slow narration
There is so much valuable information in this book - I wish everyone would read it! It is incredible information. The narration is incredibly slow and I increased the speed to 1.5 which meant it was read at a more normal speed.

An exciting, powerful tool for longevity
Excellent narration. Very informative. Dr. Longo's research is meticulous and compelling. If you are interested in living to a healthy old age, this book is must read.

Excelent book and practical knowledge
This book presents the result o so much work and amazing depth.
This is one of the most important books about nutrition I've ever read.
Another one that I advice reading is How Not to Die.
With those two books you have enough to be the healthiest you can be through nutrition.

The often repeated “permission from your doctor” is off-putting
I have heard Dr Longo speak in interviews and was compelled to learn more about his research. People who read books like this are generally the type to take control of their own health and/or have nothing left to lose. The constant “only with the permission from your doctor” repeated in many sections of the book is therefore very offputting for what could be a very empowering strategy for many diseases. The mere mention of any nutritional, fasting or lifestyle approach with any of my doctors is very quickly dismissed or ridiculed even with supporting research. I imagine this is the case for most people or they wouldn’t be looking at books like this. So, I have rated this book 4 stars because the science and research is fantastic but the only permission that is needed for any medical intervention with me is my own. Advice, research, new ideas and partnership, however, is absolutely welcome!

An actual nutrition book
Of all the diet and nutrition books out there, this is one of the best. I've followed Dr. Longo's research for awhile so when I heard that he had written a book based on his and his peer's research I was excited. I wasn't disappointed. This book explores the science behind his and other longevity researcher's claims and also has practical advice and protocols for everyone. I have already purchased this book for several family members who have MS and they are starting to feel a difference after adopting the outlined protocol for MS patients.

A must!
Extremely interesting. I read many other articles on the subject and they all seem to have the same conclusion. The BlueZone by National Geographic is one of them.
It should be taught at the earliest stage of education and reminded throughout High School and College.

must read if you value your health,
i loved this book, the information given and knowledge that Dr. Longo presented throughout has transformed the way i look at food . just finished his 5 day fmd and feel incredible. will definitely do this type of dast for the rest of my life.
