Publisher's Summary

Mark Randall lay dead in a field near Lowacre long before Smith had done what he had to do in Belfast. By the time he went back to work, the investigation was well underway. "It's not my case," he says more than once, and he really doesn't need it to be; he has enough to think about as it is. But going around the Norfolk countryside dotting the i's and crossing the t's, speaking to the local farmers and the Brothers of St. Francis from Abbeyfields, Smith begins to suspect that the investigation might be heading in entirely the wrong direction. Arrests are made, charges are brought, and Christopher Waters asks Smith if he has ever seen the wrong man convicted in a murder case. The answer is yes, and the next question is, what can be done to prevent it from happening again?

Balanced and. beautiful

This is a bittersweet look at DC as he knows that his career is coming to an end. It’s also a look at how his personal life might change in the near future.
The story is entertaining and fast moving. Wonderful narration.

How experience comes with age

Love the narrator, and the easy telling of the story… how to come to the truth without jumping to conclusions

Rags of Time by Peter Prainger

read by Gildart Jackson.
Gildard who does a great job of performing the chachters in this series good to listen to.
this is the continuing story of D.C Sam Reid and his team. good varied stories of an aged former Detective cheif inspector now from choice a detective sergent and the personal relationships he forms with collegues, and his compassion for the people he deals with in his cases. enjoy these stories very much. like that the book lengths are nice and lengthy too.

DC Smith s’entendrait bien avec Armand Gamache

Je recommande ce livre et les autres de cette série à toutes les personnes qui aiment les romans de Louise Penny.

J’ai beaucoup aimé la narration. Bravo Gildart Jackson.
