smoothie, easy to listen to
I enjoy Mr Lucado's books. This one feels full of hope, his usual plays with alliteration but also soothing and easy on the ear. Good content and smooth delivery

Thought Provoking
I love the scripture references and also the references to familiar hymns. I was singing the hymns in my mind all day. I will listen to this book again with my husband on a cross Canada drive coming up soon. A excellent lesson on trusting God and leaning on Him to handle my every day stresses.

Good, I think...
I listened to it twice. I felt the second half the book was more helpful than the first half. This is an entirely Christian book, I don't think it would interest any non-Christian.
It was worth the listen.

Wisdom for these days of Covid.
Max brings the words of the Bible to life with relevant stories and sincere life experiences. Phil 4:5-7 is much needed in this time of uncertainty...follow God's word and we can actually be anxious for zilch.

Great title with lots of great advice.
The book has a strong Christian tone throughout with countless quotations, but if that's something you are looking for or wouldn't mind, he makes many very powerful points.

A Gospel and Practical Analysis of Anxiety
I suffer from anxiety when I struggle in my life so I am quite sensitive about the topic of 'anxiety.' Sometimes, anxiety is a generalized phrase used to denote anything of discomfort or concern;for those who have experienced pure anxiety know that anxiety is the worst feeling in the world. I found that Max Lucado in Anxious for Nothing showed the respect 'anxiety' deserved and reflected relevant scripture that evoked spirit to debunk the power of anxiety and help manage it, subsequently. This book is not dedicated to a clinical understanding to anxiety; Mr. Lucado remains practical and logical about anxiety and how it controls and manifests but steers clear of biological and medical jargon and study. What I found most helpful was the link Max Lucado makes between spirit, scripture and emotions. The text is not simply a recital of scripture that in and of itself minimizes anxiety; as humans, emotions are much more powerful than reading a verse and negative emotions disappear. Likely to attract readers with the trigger word, "anxiety," I highly recommend this book to remind the reader that, firstly, the anxious individual is not alone: secondly, there are strategies to combat and anxiety, and thirdly, God loves you and is bigger than anxiety.
