Amazing story, real connection and slow burn! 🤩
Mariana Zapata knows how to write compelling stories with real characters with real connection. It’s definitely a slow burn 🔥 but it’s totally worth the wait. I’m absolutely not a figure skater but this story was so compelling and heart felt that I related with the characters regardless and this story still had a meaningful impact on me. The narrators performance was perfection. Totally worth a credit for listening. Enjoy!

One of the best books I’ve ever experienced!
This book is a masterpiece. Perfectly narrated by Callie Dalton and Teddy Hamilton, this remarkable enemies-to-lovers romance above two utterly amazing athletes takes my breath away every time I revisit it. Wonderfully funny, perfectly swoon worthy, everyone should wish for a love half as wonderful as the one these two incredible people share.
Jasmine and Ivan, you’ll forever be two of my favourite characters. Thank you for the journey, Mariana - these two are old friends I need to visit often.

Best sports story and love story I’ve read.
As a former high performance athlete I can attest to the fact that this book does an excellent job of exploring the emotions, struggles, and overall experiences of athletes who dedicate themselves to a sport. On top of that, this was one of the best, sweetest, and most believable love stories I’ve ever read. The characters are perfectly imperfect and could not be improved upon.

Why did I put this off?
I love MZ’s books but for some reason I was never in a rush to read this one so I kept putting it off. It’s in my top 3 of her books for sure.
It takes some time getting use to a male reading just his voice lines and still having a female narrator the rest of the time. But once you get use to it, I feel like it really adds to like likability of characters.

I absolutely LOVED this!

I absolutely LOVED this book!! I don’t know what took me so long to finally read this, but I’m so glad I did. The slow burn was so well down, the enemies to lovers was so good for a romance book, and I absolutely adored the characters. Ivan was so cute and I could not get enough of him, he was EVERYTHING! I loved Jasmine just as much. So so so cute!
I listened to this as an audiobook and the narration was fantastic. Often when listening to audiobooks, when a female narrator does the male love interests lines, their voice takes me out of the story a little bit (don’t get me wrong, they do a fantastic job, but still it takes me out of the story). I loved how in the narration of this a male narrator read Ivan’s lines. I wish it was like this in all audiobooks. It made for such a great listening experience.
Overall, I would HIGHLY recommend reading this book. I adore Mariana Zapata’s books!

Good Read
This is a fun, entertaining, good read. Ivan and Jasmine are interesting, relatable, captivating characters. I enjoyed Ivan and Jasmine’s exchanges and the caretaking scenes were awesome. Even though we don’t get Ivan’s perspective, I felt like I understood him almost from the start. I love that we got to find out about the couple from Dear Aaron (especially given the way that book ended).
I enjoyed listening to this book on audio and to the narrators in particular.

Hilarious!
Why did I wait so long to read this book? If you liked the 90s movie The Cutting Edge, you'll love this book! Narrators are perfect!! My favorite Mariana Zapata book.

Slow start
I almost gave up on this book. Jasmine’s inner dialogue was too drawn out for the first 3 hours. Eventually the story picked up and I was happy I stuck with it. What a sweet story! Ivan is an amazing character and he balances out Jasmine’s toughness. I really enjoyed the growth of their relationship which showcased their mutual respect, support and adoration for each other.
