About this listen

Do not touch the sword. Do not turn the key. Do not open the gate.

In the land of the unforgiving desert, there isn't much a girl wouldn't do for a glass of water.

Twenty-four-year-old Saeris Fane is good at keeping secrets. No one knows about the strange powers she possesses or the fact that she has been picking pockets and stealing from the Undying Queen's reservoirs for as long as she can remember.

But a secret is like a knot. Sooner or later, it is bound to come undone.

When Saeris comes face-to-face with Death himself, she inadvertently reopens a gateway between realms and is transported to a land of ice and snow. The Fae have always been the stuff of myth, of legend, of nightmares… but it turns out they're real, and Saeris has landed herself right in the middle of a centuries-long conflict that might just get her killed.

The first of her kind to tread the frozen mountains of Yvelia in over a thousand years, Saeris mistakenly binds herself to Kingfisher, a handsome Fae warrior, who has secrets and nefarious agendas of his own. He will use her Alchemist's magic to protect his people, no matter what it costs him… or her.

Death has a name. It is Kingfisher of the Ajun Gate.

His past is murky. His attitude stinks. And he's the only way Saeris is going to make it home.

Be careful of the deals you make, dear child. The devil is in the details...

Definitely listen to this one!!

This book was awesome, the only bad thing about this series is that fact that I can’t listen to the next one right now. If you are an ACOTAR or Fourth Wing fan like I am, you will absolutely LOVE this.

Grumpy Sunshine

Great all around. Narrators enhanced the story. Love double narration. Can't wait for next book. The banter had me laughing out loud.

100% worth the hype

This is amazing. The world building is interesting, easy to follow along with the main character as she learns the world along with you. Excellent villains, excellent spice, good twists. Foaming at the mouth for the second book

A MUST READ!!

It reels you in and you do not want to stop listening!! The sarcastic and sexual banter between the main characters is so fluid, so real... I laughed, cried and bit my lip from beginning to end.

I wish the second book was out already! I hope they choose the same narrators.

I really enjoyed this story!

This was a great book! lots of action & adventure, good story progression and character growth, lots of little pieces of other fantasy book tropes but all good ones that I enjoy. Even a little HP magic in there!
I've read several in this genre since discovering & loving Fourth Wing, and Quicksilver is the only one that was as good as that one so far. The main narrator did an great job. A little too breathy and dramatic when conveying upset, but that's being nitpicky. She was really excellent at making it clear when someone was speaking or thinking which I appreciated very much. The male narrator in the duet was great too. Can't wait for the second installment!

amazing!

The story was great, normally I spot the twist before it even happens but this one took me by surprise. Absolutely amazing, and I love having dual readers.

Narrators made it feel like a full cast

Great story moves quickly, I had a hard time finding spots to stop listening. The narrators made it feel like a full cast reading, well done. If you’re a fan of Maas, Yarros or Armentrout chances are you will like this read!
